Wine Tasting Event

A Wine-derful Evening: Badwell Ash Wine Tasting uncorks £1093.14.

What a truly delightful and successful evening we had on Friday 24th October at the Badwell Ash Village Hall! We were absolutely thrilled to partner with The Suffolk Punch Trust for a fantastic wine tasting event, raising vital funds for both their incredibly worthy cause and the ongoing improvements to our community Village Hall.

The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as guests arrived, ready to embark on a journey through a curated selection of wines. Our expert guide for the evening was the wonderfully knowledgeable Robert Stopps, whose passion and expertise shone through with every sip. Robert presented seven exceptional wines, and his engaging explanations truly enhanced the tasting experience for everyone.

Our interval entertainment was provided by the Wesley Ukulele band who had everyone in high spirits, joining in and singing along to a vibrant set. They played without any fee and those who donated to their charity, The St Nicolas Hospice, went home with £65.00 to add to their own charity efforts.

Beyond the wines, the evening was also made special by an amazing array of raffle prizes. The businesses were very generous contributing a fantastic selection of treats and experiences that had everyone eagerly awaiting the draw. We extend a huge thank you to all who donated and purchased tickets, making our raffle such a success.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that, thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone involved, we raised an astounding £1093.14 on the evening. This significant sum will be split between The Suffolk Punch Trust, helping them continue their vital work in preserving this magnificent breed, and the Badwell Ash Village Hall, contributing to our ongoing efforts to maintain and improve our community hub.

We also want to extend our sincerest gratitude to Mulberry Homes for their invaluable sponsorship. Their generous contribution enabled us to purchase new white tablecloths and water jugs, which will be fantastic additions for all future events held at the Village Hall. Their support truly helped elevate the evening and will benefit our community for years to come.

Finally, a massive thank you to each and every one of you who attended the event. Your presence, enthusiasm, and kind support for these worthy causes made the evening truly memorable. We couldn't have done it without you! Here's to the next one in 2026, Friday 16th October.
